We are a major channel for the UKs public diplomacy in Pakistan - putting Pakistani people in touch with people in the UK. We work for the benefit of the individual and for the mutual benefit of Britain and Pakistan. We have been working in Pakistan since 1948, starting from a small office in Karachi. We now offer services in 7 cities in Pakistan and employ more than 200 staff members. In the UK the British Council is registered as a charity (not-for-profit-organisation) and operates as an executive non-departmental public body. Our patron is Her Majesty The Queen and our Vice-Patron is His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales. In Pakistan we create opportunities for you to experience the best of the United Kingdom.
